Dennis Carl Stowers, 74, of Danville, WV went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 26th, 2024 at home after a long illness surrounded by his loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Soder and Estie Stowers; brothers Reed Stowers, Bobby Stowers, Ralph Stowers, Cecil (Betty) Stowers; sister Ann (Freddie) Jarrell; and brother-in-law Hansel Miller.
Dennis is survived by his siblings, Janice Irene Miller of Danville, Duane (LaDonna) Stowers of Danville, Thelma Carol (Jack) White of Beckley, Clare Sue Spence (Al) of Charleston; his loving wife of 50 years, Judy Stowers; daughters Elizabeth (Ave) Roberts of Alkol, Crystal (Scott) Stowers Egnor of Danville, Ashley (Kayla) Stowers of Madison, Sylvia Stowers of Charleston, and Taylor Stowers of Huntington; and a host of nieces and nephews. Dennis is also survived by his pride and joy, his grandchildren, Hunter (Vikki) Stowers, Bryson Stowers, Brayden Kingery, Jaelyn Castle, Trevor Roberts, Elijah Lodato, Asher Kingery, and his four-legged companion, Lola.
Dennis was a member of Cox’s Fork Freewill Baptist Church. Dennis was a faithful servant of the Lord since 1979. His faith and love in the Lord never wavered. When he was able, he enjoyed gardening, fishing, camping, hunting, his Atlanta Braves baseball, WVU football, and let us not forget his love for coffee and spending time with his grandchildren. To know Dennis was to love him. He had the biggest heart of anyone we knew.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Kanawha Hospice (Melanie & Tiffany) for their exceptional care and love they provided to him and his family in their time of need.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV with Rev. Harley Egnor, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Danville Memorial Park, Indian Grave Road, Danville, WV. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
2 Timothy 4:7-8 “I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”
