Denver Gene Adams

Denver Gene Adams, 84, of Woodville, West Virginia left this earthly life for a better life, he died at home on May 31, 2013.

Denver was born February 8, 1929 in Boone County. He was the son of Jim and Margie Adams of Lincoln County. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Dean.

He served in the US Army in 1951, was retired from Hobet Mining Company with 21 years of service, and was a member of the UMWA.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Anna; daughter, Kathy Lacy of Woodville; brothers, Bobby (Barbara) of Ravenswood, WV and Junior (Mary) of Cleveland, OH; sisters, Geraldine (Garvie) Eggleton of Marmet, WV, Mary Masker of Marmet, WV, Nancy McCormick of Sod, WV, Lois (Jim) Sothen of Charleston, WV, Judy (Don) Bailey of Charleston, WV, Shirley Huffman of Moore, Oklahoma and Janice (Pat) Knierim of Lorraine, OH. Three grandchildren, Kelly Beth, Joseph (wife Kelley) and Rachel (husband Tony); eight great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Victoria, Malachi, Kenley, Isabella, Jackson, Isaac and Austin, a host of nieces, nephews, brother and sister in laws, and friends.

Denver was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a very hard worker all his life and always provided for his family. The kids called him Super-man!! He will be sadly missed by all.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 2, 2013 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville, WV with Pastor David Cook and the Rev. Butch Brogan officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Park, Danville with military graveside rites performed by Daniel Boone VFW Post 5578, Madison, WV.
