Dessie Faye Eastep Kinder

Dessie Faye Eastep Kinder was born on July 2, 1930. She was the daughter of Jess and Clayte Eastep of Ridgeview WV. She was reunited with her mother and dad on June 13, 2015.

Dessie was preceded in death by her sisters, Irene Bender, Genevieve Price, Hazel McCollum and Patsy McCollum; brothers, Jess Eastep Jr. and Harry Eastep.

She is survived by two sisters, Pauline Miller and Peggy McCormick and brother, Phillip Earl Eastep. Also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Dessie started her career working for Chesapeake and Ohio Telephone Company. She then married John Kinder and spent some time in Germany with her husband, who was in the military. She operated two restaurants and later was Kitchen Supervisor at the Children's Home in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Dessie finished her career as a Personal Sitter for a number of families who needed a strong, loving individual to care for their loved ones suffering from Alzheimer's Disease.

Dessie was a missionary at heart, always ministering to the sick and afflicted, visiting them and always taking them flowers to brighten up their day. She loved children and spent many hours working with the children and youth in the Ridgeview/Nellis area.

She was a beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend. She created many wonderful memories for all of those who knew her and she will be greatly missed.

A celebration of Dessie's life will be held at the Handley Funeral Home in Danville WV on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 2:00. Family will receive friends from 1:00 till 2:00. There will be a graveside service at the Eastep Cemetery in Ridgeview, WV.
