Dicey Tamzy Wooten, 100, of Hewett, WV, formerly of Blair, WV went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Hospice House in Chapmanville, WV following a short illness.
She was born December 31, 1918. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Herman Wooten; daughter, Lovetta Kulchuk; granddaughter, Priscilla Wooten; and great-grandson, Rodney Kulchuk II.
Left to cherish her memory are her son, Charles (Jeweline) Wooten of Low Gap; grandchildren, Lionel (Tammy) Wooten of Phoenix, Arizona, Rodney (Tammy) Kulchuk of Chapmanville, Theresa (Jack) Perry of Logan, Tammy (Donnie, deceased) Burgess of Hewett, and Jody (Sherry) Wooten of Low Gap; 14 great-grandchildren; and 24 great-great-grandchildren.
Tamzy enjoyed gardening. She was a homemaker and a member of Stevens Methodist Church at Hewett where she proudly served the Lord for 86 years. She recently celebrated her 100th birthday where she was “Queen for the Day”. She will be missed by family, friends, and neighbors.
A special thanks to a special neighbor, Paul and Carol Dillon, who she thought of as a daughter.
Service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, January 24 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Madison.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
