Donald Lee Dean

February 25, 1947 — December 17, 2017

DONALD LEE DEAN, 70 years, 9 months and 22 days old, of Branchland, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord on December 17, 2017, at his home in Branchland, W.Va., with his loving family close by his side.

He was born February 25, 1947, at Cabell Huntington Hospital. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett Dean Sr. and Annie Belle Price of Branchland, W.Va.; and one brother, Jack D. Taylor of Troy, Ohio.

He retired from CSX, where he worked for 37 1/2 years, and was a devoted member and trustee of the Mildred United Baptist Church. He enjoyed his life of family, friends, brothers and sisters in the church and being able to help any and all everywhere he was.

He leaves behind a loving wife, Donna June Dean of Branchland, W.Va.; a brother, Everett (Annie) Dean Jr., of West Hamlin, W.Va.; sister Barbara (Cameron) Dillon of Sutton, W.Va.; one aunt, Ruth Dean of Huntington, W.Va.; one son, Donald Dean Jr., of Hamlin, W.Va.; daughters Teresa (Bob) Richards of Portsmouth, Ohio, Vanessa Hager of Branchland, W.Va., Jeanette (Basil) Browning of West Hamlin, W.Va., and Crystal, also known as The Baby, (Jason) Ramey of Branchland, W.Va.; four granddaughters, Heather (Carl) Ferguson, Keana Linville, Shanelle Adkins and Chloe Dean; three grandsons, Richard (Joanna) Adkins, Christian Dean and Bryden Dean; two great-grandsons, Jace Linville and Grayson Porter; one great-granddaughter, Paislee Ferguson; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and buddies.

We would like to send out a special thanks to the Hospice employees in Lincoln and Cabell counties. Also, to all of the doctors and nurses at the Huntington Internal Medicine Group in Huntington, W.Va.

The Lord sends a special person to do a special work.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at Mildred United Baptist Church, Branchland, W.Va. Burial will follow in Franklin Cemetery, Branchland, W.Va. Visitation will be one hour before service at the church. McGhee-Handley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
