Donald Gene Dillon

Donald Gene Dillon, 80 of West Hamlin, WV passed away Monday, September 28, 2015 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington. He was born December 31, 1934 a son of the late Benjamin and Lucinda Frye Dillon. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Richard, Calbert, Hershel, and Reuben; and sisters Vida Morris and Freda Bias.
Donald graduated from Hamlin High School in 1953. He was retired from Lincoln County Board of Education in Hamlin and a Walmart greeter for 7 years. He was also a member of Carpenters Union 302, and a member of Centerpoint Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley Johnson Dillon; a sister, Edna Quintrell at Lincoln Continuous Care Center in Hamlin; a very special niece whom he and Shirley considered their own, Mahalie Hargis; and several nieces and nephews. Friends may send flowers or make donations to the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House of Huntington.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Thursday October 1, 2015 at Centerpoint Baptist Church, West Hamlin, WV with Lenny Romans, Jonah Adkins, and Jason Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Enon Cemetery, Salt Rock, WV.
Visitation will be 2 hours prior to service on Thursday.
