Donald "Donnie" Edward Salmons

Donald "Donnie" Edward Salmons, 64, of Salt Rock, WV went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 22, 2014. He was born October 29, 1949 in West Hamlin a son of the late Bobby Henson and Maxine Ruth Blackburn Salmons. He was employed as a Sales Representative with Leslie Equipment for over 25 years and was a member of Center Point Baptist Church in West Hamlin, WV.

Donald is survived by his loving wife Carolyn Faye (Burton) Salmons. They were married on May 5, 1968 and were a beautiful example of marriage and friendship. Donald is also survived by his son Michael Edward (Kristi Michele); daughter Monica Elaine (Roger Allen) Dial; brother Ronald G. (Kelley G.); 10 grandchildren: Tristyn Nicole Salmons, Joseph Stewart Obrokta , Michael Edward Salmons II, Erin Paige Dial, Katherine Grace Obrokta, Zachary Allen Dial, Elizabeth Caroline Obrokta, Katelyn Elizabeth Salmons, Mikayla Kristine Salmons, and Anna Chaffins Dial; and a host of family and friends.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Saturday January 25, 2014 at Center Point Baptist Church, with Lennie Romans officiating. Burial will follow at Enon Cemetery, Salt Rock. Viewing will be from 6 to 8 PM Friday at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin, WV. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Center Point Baptist Church Building Fund, PO Box 389, West Hamlin, WV 25571.
