Doris Ethel Williams

Doris Ethel Williams, 87, of Danville, WV passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2024.  

She was born January 7, 1937, in Charleston, WV to the late Cecil and Cynthia Hunt.  She was also preceded in death by Robert Williams, Mack Hunt, David Hunt, Ronald Hunt, Paul Hunt, Dottle Haynes, Irene Thompson, Louise Roy, Jesie Jarvis and Sandy Williams.

She was a longtime member of Mims House of Prayer, Mims, FL where she served as a Sunday School teacher for many years.  Doris and her late husband Bob owned local businesses, Williams Drive Inn, and The Rosedale Motel.  She was a member of Coal Valley Church before re-locating to Mims, FL. 

She is survived by her son, Robert L. Williams Jr. of Danville, WV; daughter, Donna Sue Williams of Columbia, SC; two sisters, Macel Kight of Ohio and Janet Carpenter of Nitro, WV; grandchildren, Mark Perry, Toni Mullins, (Tom), Brandi Ferrell, (Johnny), Suzanna Carper (Matt), and LeAnn (Brandon) Trent.; great-grandchildren, Malachi, Eric Ryan, Chase, Dymond, Mallory, Jacob, Kaylee, Morgan, Madeline, Parker, Easton, Mathew, Layden, and Caleb; and two great-great-grandchildren, Addie and Everleigh.

Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 20 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV with Joe Lane and Dennie Evans officiating. Entombment will follow in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes, WV.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. on Tuesday until service time at the funeral home.
