Douglas Erwin Peters

Douglas Erwin Peters, 66, of Charleston, WV passed away on September 11, 2023.

He was the son of Patricia Peters and the late James D. Peters of Wharton, WV. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his sister Donna Rowe and brother-in-law Johnny Rowe.

He worked for WV Division of Corrections for many years. He also worked for the Department of Highways, traveling throughout the state. He loved playing music and could play many instruments. He also enjoyed writing poems and was a talented artist.

Left to mourn him are his mother, Patricia Peters; his longtime partner, Lucille Wilson; brother, Donnie Peters (Susan); sisters, Deanna Harvey (Dayman) and Darla Butler (Robert); as well as eight nieces and nephews and nine great nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV on Monday, September 18, 2023 with viewing beginning at 3 p.m.  A brief Memorial Service will follow at 3:45 p.m.
