Earnest Lee Osborne

Earnest Lee Osborne, 89, of Greenwood, WV went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 26, 2013.
He was born July 11, 1923 and was a son of the late William Dink and Ethel Osborne from Buffalo Creek, WV. He was also preceded in death by ten siblings.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Eileen Vickers Osborne; nine children, Richard (Janice) Osborne of Logan, WV, Ladonna Pack of Millers Creek, N.C., Phillip (Micki) Osborne of Lilburn, Ga., Janice (Sergio) Alcantar of Richmond, Va., David Osborne of Greenwood, WV, Kathy (Michael) Elkins of Bob White, WV, Gail (Larry) Saunders of Madison, WV, Nancy (Tom) Foray of Rutledge, TN and Timothy (Lisa) Osborne of Charleston, WV; 12 grandchildren, Sean, Steve, Allison, Amber, Angela, Amy, Chad, Shane, Rachel, Ryan, Seth and Adam; and 18 great-grandchildren. He was blessed to have a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends who also survives him.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and earned the Purple Heart, European Campaign Medal, American Campaign Medal and Good Conduct Metal. He was a member of the West Virginia Southern Horseman Associations. He was a devout Christian who was a member of the Greenwood Church of God. He was a former deacon for Curtis Baptist Church in Buffalo Creek, W.Va. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, attending church and family gatherings. We love him and will miss him tremendously.
Services will be 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Donnie Elam officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Park, Danville with military graveside rites performed by Daniel Boone VFW Post 5578 Madison, WV.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
