Edith S. Hager-Dean

Edith S. Hager Dean, 85, of Branchland, WV died Monday, August 19, 2013 at St. Mary’s Medical Center with her family by her side. She was born September 24, 1927 to the late Perry Hager and Ellen Perdue Hager of Spurlockville, WV. Family and friends will remember “Mamaw” as a loving woman who always had a smile on her face. She was always there to help her loved ones in any way she could. An avid fisherman who loved to camp and enjoy life with her husband Herbert “Den” Dean ,whom she lost November 1, 2009 after 62 years of marriage.
She leaves three granddaughters, Vanessa Hager of Branchland, Jeanette (Basil) Browning of West Hamlin, Crystal (Jason) Ramey of Salt Rock and one grandson Justin Estep of Salt Rock. A very special family member whom she loved as her daughter, Donna Dean; two very special nephews, Don Dean and Everett “Jr.” Dean; four great grandchildren, Heather Bragg, Richard Adkins, Keana Linville and Shanelle Adkins. She leaves behind a brother and sister and is preceded in death by two sisters and a brother. She leaves behind several nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by many people.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday August 22, 2013 at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin, WV. The burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery, Branchland, WV. Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral Thursday at the funeral home.
