Edith June Smith 75 of Madison, WV went home to be with the Lord, on Friday, August 23, 2013.
She was a retired dispatcher for the Madison Police Dept and was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Smith and her parents, James and Della Backus.
She is survived by her son; Roston Woodrow “Woody” Hunter II (Danielle) of Rock Creek, WV, her daughter; Delilah Farmer (Frank) of Sumpter, SC, brother; Homer Backus of Madison, sister; Linda Deane (Cecil) of Richmond, VA, granddaughters; Shawntel and Chloe Hunter of Rock Creek, many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2013, Handley Funeral Home, Danville, WV with Richard Runyon officiating. Burial will follow in Family Gardens, Madison.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
