Edward Harold “Bo” Gibson of Lexington, NC formerly of Bald Knob, WV went home to Heaven on December 10, 2016. He was born on September, 13, 1943 in Lorado, WV, a son of the late Gilbert and Stella Gibson. He was also preceded in death by brother, Sylvester “Lut” Gibson; sisters, Melva Sigmon and Beulah Cook; and step-daughter, Jimmie Lee Haley.
Bo was a deacon the God’s Lighthouse in Buffalo, WV. He loved going to church, drag racing, coon hunting, and most of all spending time with his kids and grandchildren. He was a coal miner at Harris #1 and served in the armed forces in the Artillery Division.
He is survived by three sons, Chris (Crystal) Gibson of Lexington, NC, Kevin (Lorrie) Gibson of Ivanhoe, VA and Pee Wee (Lori) Gibson of Lexington, NC; step children, Jack (Adrianne) Haley of Ashboro, NC and David (Tabitha) Haley of Walnut Cove, NC; three sisters, Loretta (Danny) Elkins and Sharon Massey both of Bald Knob and Charlene (Mayburn) Woodrum; brother, Kenneth (Gale) Gibson also of Bald Knob; grandchildren, Edward, Nicole, Chandler and Carley; step grandchildren, Amber Bias, Aubrey Conner, Kelsey Grantham, Zachory Haley, Mason and Logan Rominger and Jarrett Sampson; and step great grandchildren, Kameron, Levi and Dallas.
Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, December 15 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Alvin Browning officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Park, Danville.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
