Our little angel who now walks with Jesus, Elijah Ryan Pickens was born on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at 2:45 a.m. to parents Dustin and Alissa Pickens at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV.
He weighed 14.6oz. and was 10 ½ inches long. Baby Eli was stillborn looking as peaceful as possible. He was baptized by his Godparents, Pastors Ryan and Christy Miller while lying in his mother’s arms. He was loved on by his family, and his mommy and daddy talked to him to let him know how loved and special he was.
Elijah is deeply loved by his mommy and daddy; big sisters Sophia and Sadie; his grandparents Herman and Carol Pickens, grandma Paula New, great grandparents Paul and Betty Smith, and Dallas and JoAnn Pickens; his aunts and uncles; his cousins; his church family of Maple Grove Church; and many others. They will hold him again in Heaven one day.
He was preceded in death by his grandpa, Kevin Berkley; his great aunt Christy Smith; his great-great grandparents Loeda and Harry Shaffer; and his great grandparents Willard and Dorothy Christian.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville, WV. Family and friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Private family burial will follow in Peters Cemetery, Drawdy.
