Elizabeth M. Dolin

Our beloved mother Elizabeth "Betty" M. Dolin of Foster, WV earned her wings on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at Harmony at Southridge in Charleston, WV. She was born April 6, 1930 and was the daughter of the late Otto O. and Elizabeth (Lizzy) Vandelinde Miller of Madison, WV.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Martin Dolin, Jr.; her sister Audrey M. Canterbury; her brothers Roscoe E. Miller, Rexford E. Miller, Eugene O. Miller; and her granddaughter Alexandria Smith. 

She is survived by her sister Lucy A. Sigmon of Alexandria KY; three children Bruce W. Dolin of Foster, WV, Mark R. (Pam) Dolin of Madison, WV, and Sharon (Henry J.R.) Nichols of Charleston WV; five grandchildren Elijah B. Dolin of Charleston, WV, Joshua M. (Danica) Dolin of Morgantown, WV, Derek D. Nichols of Charleston, WV, Nicholas A. (Suellen) Dolin of South Charleston, WV, Sarah B. (Frank) Dolin of Madison, WV and Nautica S. (Cody) Champlin of Charleston, WV; and eighteen great grandchildren. 

She graduated from Scott High School of Madison, WV in 1949. She worked at the Ten Cent store in Madison. Later worked for her sister at The Spot and Canterbury's Restaurant in Madison. She married the love of her life on October 19, 1951, they were blessed with 72 years of a happy marriage. Our mother was a homemaker who loved her family and enjoyed caring for them. She loved cooking big holiday meals and being surrounded by her family. She loved to read, work crossword puzzles, and embroidery. She was a member of Danville Baptist Church, and later after marriage a longtime member at the Church of Christ of Foster, WV.

Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV with minister Nathaniel Dolin officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens, Madison, WV. 

Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
