Elizabeth Fern Simpkins

Elizabeth Fern Short Simpkins, 92, of Branchland, WV passed away May 16, 2015 at home. She was born October 14, 1922 in Sheridan, WV, a daughter of the late William Thomas Short and Melinda Bell Zirkle. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willis Simpkins; son, Jackie Simpkins and grandson, Steve Adkins.

Beloved mother of daughters Donna and Bernard Bays of Southside, Joyce and Jennings Adkins of Barboursville, Debbie and the late Dick Dolecek of Pleasant View; sons, Randy and Mary Jo Simpkins of Louisa, Ky ,Ricky and Laura Simpkins of Cleveland, OH, Scott and Barbara Simpkins of Pleasant View; and daughter-in-law Barbara Simpkins; 21 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2:00pm Wednesday May 20, 2015 at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin, WV with Paul Triplett officiating. The burial will follow in Lincoln Memorial Park, Hamlin, WV.

A visitation will be from 6pm to 8pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
