Elva Hooser Chandler 92 of Danville, WV died Wednesday April 25, 2018. She was born October 23, 1925 a daughter of the late Jesse and Bessie Lovejoy Hooser. She was also preceded in death by her husband Shelby Chandler; a son Nelwyn Chandler; a daughter Sandra Holstein; a sister Cora Hill; and brothers Leonard, Ernest, and Claude Hooser.
She is survived by her grandsons, Joe (Lisa) Holstein, Sean (Jennifer Dotson) Chandler, and Aaron (Barbara) Chandler; great grandchildren, Brooke, Katie, Matthew, Peyton, Lauren, Ethan, and Mason; great-great grandchildren, Lydia, Luke, Creed, and Larsyn; a son-in-law Danny Holstein, and several nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the Olive Four Quartet with Burnice McCallister, Truman Carpenter, and Ruben Dotson as the other members. In the 60’s they sang on the radio and at Pinnacle Church. She was also a member of Cabin Creek Quilts. The family would like to thank the staff of Meadow Brook Assisted Living for the wonderful care given to Elva.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday April 28, 2018 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Pastor Chuck Gillispie Pinnacle Church officiating. Burial will follow at Lovejoy Cemetery, Palermo, WV.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Friday at the funeral home.
