Erma Gay Miller, 85, of Jacksonville, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2025. She was born on October 30, 1939 in Madison, West Virginia to the late Raymond Rowley and Erna Bias Rowley.
Erma will be remembered for her kindness, resilience, her smile, and the deep love she had for her family. She brought warmth and joy to those around her, and her legacy of love and strength will continue to live on through the lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband Oner C. Miller Jr.; her daughter Sherry Ballinger; and her siblings Leroy, Charlie, Paul, Frank and Esta Dameron.
Erma is survived by her two loving daughters, Melissa Weldon (John) and Chasity Greenwood (Shane); and her treasured brother and sister, William Rowley and Mary (Rowley) Clifton. She was a devoted grandmother to four grandchildren: Amber Richter, Brandy Henderson (Jordan), Nathan Schad, and Zachary Greenwood. She was also blessed with three great-grandchildren: Aaron Thigpen, Corbin Henderson, and Cade Henderson. In addition, she leaves behind many cherished cousins, nieces, and nephews.
A service to honor her life will be held at 2:00pm, Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at Handley Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until service time. Erma will be laid to rest beside her husband, O.C. at Madison Memory Gardens. The family appreciates your love, support, and condolences during this time.
