Eugene Albert "Cub" Stevens

Heaven gained another angel. Eugene Albert "Cub" Stevens of Midkiff, WV born on Jan. 17, 1936, went home to be with the lord on Thursday, Aug. 22, 2013 with his family by his side at the age of 75. He was the son of the late William and Martha Stevens. He was proceeded in death by his former wife Hazel Vick Stevens, three brothers Rouie Stevens, Andrew Stevens, and James "Nit" Stevens and two sisters Lovey Roy and Nancy "Nan" Adkins. Cub retired from ACF in 1979. He was a long time member of Pinegrove Church in Midkiff, WV. He was deeply loved and cared for by many. Surviving loved ones include his wife Bernice "Bea" Stevens whom he loved dearly, three sons Micheal "Mike" Stevens of Midkiff, Danny Stevens and wife Debbie of Midkiff, David Stevens and wife Glenna of Midkiff. Three stepsons William Adkins, Stevie Adkins, and Barry Adkins. Six Grandchildren which include Jessica "Poo" Stevens, Marchella "Sissy" Stevens, Danny "Bubby" Stevens, Novella Stevens, David "Bub" Stevens, and Cody Adkins. Seven great grandchildren Latosha "Tosha" Sergent, Verlin "Peewee" Sergent, Chasity "Punkin" Stevens, Ron "Chumpy" Hammond, Santana Parker, Preston Stevens, and Cameron Stevens. Also surviving is his brother Paul Stevens and two sisters Barbara "Bob" Abshire, and Gloria "Goby" Donnely. Along with several neices, nephews, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws and friends. He loved all his family dearly. Funeral services will be held 2pm on Sunday, Aug.25,2013 At Handley Funeral Home in West Hamlin, WV with Bro. Paul Stevens officiating. Pall-bearers include Ron Hammond, Ron Hammond jr, Verlin Sergent, Danny Stevens jr, Stevie Adkins, Barry Adkins, Clayton Smith. Burial will follow at Stevens-Hager Cemetery Midkiff,WV. Friends may call Saturday, August 24, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
