Ezra John Knabb

December 8, 1981 — January 5, 2017

Ezra John Knabb, of St. Albans, formerly of Madison, was suddenly and unexpectedly called home by his Eternal Father on January 5, 2017. Ezra briefly attended WVU, Mountain State, and Bridge Valley, but was most proud of completing Boone County Career Center’s CNA Program and Garnet Career Center’s LPN Program with honors. He worked in various nursing positions but felt he made his greatest contributions while working at Thomas Memorial Hospital and Greater Charleston Dialysis. He was proud of his mission trips with a team from Maranatha Fellowship Church always stating he received more than he gave. He also co-lead Freedom Fighters at Maranatha. Ezra was a gentle soul who loved God, family, music, camping and fishing at Summersville Lake and on the family ponds in South Carolina.
He was predeceased by his grandparents; Marie Ball, C.S. “Patty” Knabb and Dr. and Mrs. James Scott, uncle; Mike Knabb and cousin; Cori Scott Snyder.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents; Johnny and Ruthie Knabb, brother; Jacob Knabb (Kelly), sister; Jennifer Knabb Rago (Vince), special nephews; Sam and Jude Rago and Iggy Knabb, poppaw; H. Ray “Tony” Ball, and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins.
During his time on this earth Ezra walked in light and darkness, but never alone. God was with him and His grace enveloped him. Before passing, Ezra learned not to listen to the judgments of men which are temporary, but instead the judgments of God which are eternal over your life. He truly found a river in the middle of a desert land.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 13, at the Madison United Methodist Church with Pastor Rick Swearengin officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to WV Health Right, Serenity Club of Dunbar, Ray of Hope or Madison United Methodist Church.
