Fred Leo Beckelheimer

April 4, 1931 — October 18, 2016

Fred Leo Beckelheimer was well known in the community as “Bill”. Fred was 85 years, 6 months and 14 days old.

He made his home with his daughter Lois and son-in-law Henley Adkins for 1 ½ years. He passed away October 18, 2016 at Lois and Henley’s Home. He was born April 4, 1931 at Branchland, WV, a son of the late Henderson and Alice Ramsey Beckelheimer. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife Maggie Beckelheimer and a son Estel “Buck” Beckelheimer.

He is survived by three daughters Lois (Henley) Adkins of Branchland, Nada (Charles) Adkins of Branchland and Linda (Raydean) Bennett of Beckley, WV; 7 grandchildren, Scotty, Steve, Sara, Shane, Brent, Christina, Danielle and Brandon; 7 great grandchildren.

He was a humble Christian man and loved everyone he came in contact with. He was a member of the Center Point United Baptist Church, West Hamlin. He loved going to church and meeting with all his friends when he was able to go, but time had made a great toll on his body and mind, but time here for him has passed he is now entered his final journey to rest from his labors. With love from your family, you will be sadly missed rest now in peace Dad. I would like to mention his best buddy whom he thought so much of and really cared for him, Thank You so much for everything you helped dad with, he thought so much of you, Andy Williamson. He thought the world of you. I would like to express for myself and dad my personal feelings to a very special friend, who has always been there anytime I needed help and all the visits and concern for him. I give my flowers when flowers are due Glenna Flowers he thought a lot of you and this will never ever be forgotten. Thank You so much! We love you.

Funeral services will be 1:00pm Saturday October 22, 2016 at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin with Vernon Perry and Eddie McComas officiating. The burial will be the Beckelheimer’s Family Cemetery, Branchland.

A visitation will be 6pm to 8pm Friday at the funeral home.
