Freda Mae Dempsey, 79, of Bim, WV received her brand new glorified body on September 14, 2019 when God called her home to suffer no more.
Freda was a longtime member of Browns Branch Freewill Baptist Church. She loved and appreciated the men and women there who never failed to come running every time she was needing something done at home. Freda would also tell you that she was blessed to have four pastors that she really loved and held dear to her heart – they were always like sons to her. Her pastor at Browns Branch, Phil Rowe, Don Tabor, Chip Frame and Scottie Elswick.
Freda loved her family – especially her grandkids. She loved her daughters, but those grandbabies were her whole world. Her face lit up when they walked into the room. They were her everything. She loved them dearly.
Freda was a wonderful mother. She was so loving and kind. She was a mother figure to a lot of kids that came to visit Tonya and Kim and Hope. Even her church family called her Momma or MaMaw. She was so loved by everyone who knew her and she is going to be missed so much. But, she is reunited with the love of her life and oh, if we could only see the smiles on their faces when they seen each other. What a reunion.
Freda was preceded in death by her husband Gary; daughter Kim; parents, Ocie and Emma Craddock; and eight brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her daughters, Sherry and Tonya and Hope; sons-in-law, Joey and Ricky; step-son, Gary; brothers, Johnny and Eric; sister-in-law, Donna; grandchildren, Scotty, Amber and her husband Jamie Brown, ShiAnn, Destiny and Bethany; great-grandchildren, Calli Jo, Hunter, Elizabeth, Addison and Waylon; a host of family and friends; and an army of prayer warriors.
Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, September 19 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV with Jeff Mosteller officiating. Burial will follow in Jasper-Workman Cemetery, Bald Knob.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
