Freddie Glen Miller

Freddie G. Miller age 94 of Madison, WV was born February 5, 1929 in Lincoln County, WV to parents Everett and Lessie Scragg Miller. He departed this life on Monday, July 24, 2023, at Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston, WV.

He was preceded in death by his wife Macel Kessinger Miller, parents; Everett and Lessie Miller, sister Helene Miller Clark, brothers; Darrell Miller, Egbert ‘Buck’ Miller, Sharell Miller, and Gary ‘Tood’ Miller, and Sister Carrie ‘Tiny’ Miller.

Survivors include his brother David (Kay) Miller, sons; Gregory (Patricia) Miller of Alkol, WV and Michael (Rosa) Miller of Culloden, WV, granddaughter Chelsea (Nathan) Miller Haines, and great grandson Hudson Haines of Vacaville, CA.

Freddie served in the Marine Corp during the Korean War where he received a Purple Heart. After returning from the conflict, he worked in the coal mining industry as a heavy equipment operator and truck driver. Macel and Freddie retired early and traveled many times across the United States.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 26, 2023 at the Handley Funeral Home at Danville, WV. Burial will follow in the Memory Gardens at Low Gap Road, Madison, WV.
