Gary Franklin Yeager, born on January 20th, 1959, passed away on December 17th, 2024, after a short but progressive illness. He was 65 years old.
Gary graduated from Van High School in 1977 and continued his education at West Virginia University. Throughout his life, Gary was passionate about maintaining an active lifestyle, greatly enjoying running, walking, and weightlifting. He was often seen walking or running the track around the Van High School football field or weightlifting outback his house. Recently, Gary enjoyed going on car rides with his personal ‘chauffeur,’ Russell, which brought him happiness and companionship as he struggled in his final months.
Gary will be remembered for his kind, caring, and generous heart. He was a devoted caregiver to both of his parents, showing love and compassion in their time of need. Gary shared a special bond with Logan White, treating him and loving him as his own child.
Gary was preceded in death by his father, Pete Yeager; paternal grandparents, John and Bessie Yeager; maternal grandparents, Fred and Cleo Runyon; and his brother-in-law, Tommy Roberts.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving mother, Juanita Yeager; sisters Billie Roberts, Kay Kay (Tim) Jarrell, and Me-Me (Russell) Thomas; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Gary, you will be greatly missed and loved forever.
