Geneva Kay Warden

Geneva "Jenny" Kay Warden, 73, of Beckley, WV passed away peacefully on June 29, 2024 at Beckley Health Care, Beckley, WV.

Geneva was born in Madison (Boone County), WV on August 27, 1950 to the late Robert and Opal Halley. She was also preceded in death by son Roy Silvia Jr.; brothers Herman, Clifford and Charles Halley; and sisters Joyce Halley, Phillis Liddell, Faye Stone and Leona (Lynn) Halley.

Geneva is survived by brothers James and Larry Halley; sisters Yvonne Cremeans and Wanda Sutphin; daughters Kay Silvia, Teresa (Bennie) Maxwell and Sherry (Daniel) Sherry, grandsons Gary Neil Pollard and Adam (Courtney) Sherry; granddaughters Crystal (Matt) Stalnaker, Brittny (Nathan) Steinmetz, Ashley Silvia, Brandi (James) Purdy, Jamie Brooke (Chris) Speakman, Andrea (Leonard) Sherry, Angel Sherry, Taylor (David) Fitzwater, and Ariel Sherry; and 19 great grandchildren.

Jenny was one of the first woman coal miners in Boone County, WV at Westmoreland Coal Company. She retired from Microcenter distribution after 13 wonderful years.

Jenny was a loving mother, wife, sister, grandmother and great grandmother and will be very missed by all.

Services will be held at Handley Funeral Home, 439 Phipps Avenue Danville, WV 25053 on July 3, 2024. Visitation will be held from 1pm - 2pm with service at 2pm. Geneva will be laid to rest at Mid-Ferrell Cemetery, Bandytown, Boone County, West Virginia following service.
