George McClellan 91 of Branchland WV, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Tuesday November 25, 2014. He was born June 27, 1923. He was the eldest son of the late Lawrence and Mary McClellan.
George was preceded in death by his beloved wife of seventy years, Virginia (Ginny) McClellan; one infant son Sunny Moran; two brothers Tom McClellan of Ohio and Larry McClellan of Huntington; one sister Gladys Clay of Ripley and one daughter in law, Doris(Jones)McClellan.
Our Father is survived by his three sons Gary McClellan, Jerry(Jackie)McClellan of Huntington, Doug(Robin)McClellan of Salt Rock, one daughter Brenda(Doug)Franklin of Lorain Ohio, five grandchildren, Rex Franklin, Nicky(Rodney) Starcher, Anthony(Monica) McClellan, Leah(Christopher)MacFarlane, Eric(Laura)McClellan, seven great grandchildren, Brayden, Joshua, Aubrey, Jillian, Gaige, Lily and soon to arrive baby McClellan.
He was a retired plant operator for Columbia Gas for over forty years. He was a faithful member of Roach Baptist Church, a Sunday school teacher, a loving husband ,a father, and a grandfather. Special thanks to Tina and Joey Short of Branchland, Cabell Huntington Hospital and Hospice Center. God bless each one for the care you took with our father. He was, is, and shall always be in our hearts and minds.
Goodness and mercy followed him all the days of his life and he shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever. Psalm 116:15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday November 29, 2014 at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin, WV. The burial will follow in the Slone-Triplett Cemetery, Pleasant View, WV. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers contributions can be sent to Hospice.
