Gladys Faye McCallister

Gladys Faye McCallister, 91, of Ridgeview, WV passed away on September 25,2024 at Hillcrest Health Care after a long illness. 

She was a Christian. She had a love of singing gospel music in a group when she was younger. She loved singing and visiting in all the different churches. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was her world.

She was born May 27, 1933 to the late Martha Treadway and Brady Barker. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Glen McCallister; her son Jimmy Meek; and her daughter-in-law Lisa McCallister.

She is survived by her son Charles (Ellen) Meek of Georges Creek WV; daughter Ann McCleese (John Miller) of Cleveland Ohio; sons Glen McCallister of Ridgeview WV, William Dale (Susan) McCallister of Ridgeview WV, and Brady (Sharon) McCleese of Omar WV; daughters-in-law Dorreen Meek of Tampa FL, and Stephany Meek of Tampa, FL; brothers Harlen Treadway of Ashford WV, and James (Kathy) Treadway of Nellis WV; grandchildren John "Jay" Miller of Cleveland Ohio, Justin (Brittany) McCallister of Ashford WV, Holly Craig of Charleston WV, Sherry (Archibald) Jackson of Brandon, FL, Jason (Carey) Meek of Sellersburg, Indiana, and Brady (Lori) McCleese Jr of Logan WvV; a host of great and great-great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Hillcrest Healthcare Nursing staff for the excellent care and love they have provided, and, thank you to Hospice Care for all wonderful care they provided.

Service will be 11 a.m. Monday, September 30 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV with Randall Kinder officiating. Burial will follow in Barker Cemetery, Ashford, WV.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, September 29 at the funeral home.
