Glen Franklin Nida, 70, of Foster, was born August 15, 1947 and passed away September 24, 2017 at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Franklin Silbert Nida and Freda Leona Compton Nida Cook; sister, Mary Lou Vance; and brother-in-law, Carroll Barker.
He was a coal miner and was a member of the UMWA. He was also a member of Fountain of Life Worship Center at Foster. He loved spending time with his grandkids, working at church and always helping others.
He is survived by his wife, Billie Nida; sons, Glen Franklin Nida Jr. of Cross Lanes and Mikey (Lindsay) Brown of Danville; daughter, Marsha (Scott) Myers of Teays Valley; brother, Steve (Rhonda) Nida of Logan; sisters, Sue Barker of Garretts Fork and Jane Gibson (Curtis) of Garretts Fork; nine grandchildren, Stevi Nicole Pritt (Eric) Dakoda Chattin (Lindsay), Tyler Brook Harman (Matt), Kelli Yingling (Luke), Zoey Myers, Boston Myers, Jeremy Nida, Jayden Brown, Jaxon Brown, and Kayden Nida; great-grandchildren, Ryland Chattin, Braxton Nida, Irelynn Nida and Creed Pritt; niece, Stephanie Nida; and nephews, Frank Marcum, Jim Marcum, Tommy Vance, Noah Vance, Kevin Bucher, and Josh Nida.
Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 27 at Fountain of Life Worship Center with Pastor Ronnie Luke and Pastor Stacy Dingess officiating. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Park, Danville.
