Gloria “Jeannie” Huff, 60, of Costa, West Virginia, passed from this life on Sunday, April 6, 2025 after a long battle with cancer.
She was born on November 7, 1964 in Chicago, Illinois. Jeannie was proceeded in death by her father, Willie E. Huff; and her sister, Cindy Sullivan.
Those left to cherish her memory include her son Willie R. Huff of South Charleston, West Virginia; daughter Jolene Huff of Madison, West Virginia; mother Brenda Huff of Costa, West Virginia; as well as a whole host of friends, current and former students, particularly David Fennessy and Carson Brinegar.
Jeannie graduated from West Virginia State University where she gained her teaching degree. She was a teacher for Boone County Schools where she was beloved by all of her students and co-workers. She also worked for Texas Roadhouse where she brought a smile to all who encountered her.
Jeannie was a former soccer coach for Madison Middle School. She also enjoyed many different types of crafts. She loved taking her children and their friends anywhere that they wanted to go.
She was a zealous fan of Skyhawks football and held a special place in her heart for the players as they did her. Jeannie was a tutor and a mentor to all who were in need.
Jeannie leaves behind a hole in the hearts of all who knew her, but we can look forward to seeing her again one day.
A Memorial Service for Jeannie will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Madison Middle School.
