Gloria Ann Prichard

Gloria Ann (Woodall) Prichard, 84, of West Hamlin, WV, passed away on September 14, 2024. Born on December 10, 1939, she was a vibrant and independent soul, cherished by all who knew her. Gloria graduated from Guyan Valley High School in 1958 and later attended Marshall University. She dedicated a significant part of her career to Lincoln County Schools, where she found great joy and fulfillment working with special needs students. Outside of her professional life, Gloria relished her time in Florida, embracing the warmth and beauty of the state whenever she could. She also, enjoyed traveling and reminiscing with the Guyan Valley “Top Ten Gang.” Gloria’s energetic spirit and love for life were evident in every endeavor she undertook.

Gloria was preceded in death by her beloved husband of fifty-one years, Gerald Prichard; granddaughter, Kristen Prichard; mother, Edna Moore; stepfather, Howard Moore; father, Dennis Woodall; and brother-in-law, Robert Plumley. She leaves behind a loving family: sons Kevin (Beth) Prichard and Ken (Elaine) Prichard; daughter, Dionne (Russell) Lucas; sister, Shelia Plumley; brother Glenn Moore; grandchildren, Kaitlin Prichard, Karrah (Alex) Wells, Jacob (Ariel) Lucas, Devin (Tom) Collins, and Lindsey (Justin) Rakes; and great grandchildren, Luna Barriteau, Hattie Wells, Quentin Collins, Lacey Rakes, Callum Lucas, and Heath Wells.

The family extends their gratitude to the staff of Paramount Senior Living and Hospice of Huntington for their compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Huntington.

Services will be at 1PM on Friday, September 20, 2024 at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin, WV. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will follow in the Slone Cemetery, Pleasant View, WV. Gloria’s life will be celebrated and remembered for the profound impact she had on everyone she met.
