Hannah Syvada “Tootsie” Brown Wooten, 73, of Chapmanville, WV formerly of Madison departed this life Sunday, July 27, 2014 at Logan Regional Medical Center, Logan, WV
Born January 26, 1941 at Ragland, WV she was a daughter of the late Garland Ooten and the late Rosa Mae Burke Ooten Adkins. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her first husband, William Junior Brown and her second husband, Golden Ray Wooten; one brother, Arvel Ooten of Ohio; one daughter-in-law, Teresa Gaye Brown; and one loving beautiful great-granddaughter, Shana Machelle Cannon of Whitman, WV.
Tootsie, as she was known by her family and close friends, lived 73 years. She loved everyone unconditionally and was respected by all who knew her.
Those left to cherish her memories are her sons, William “Bill” (Rhonda) Brown (her caretakers) of Chapmanville, Jackie Brown of Madison and Michael (Carla) Brown of Danville; step-daughter, Judy Akers of Hewett, WV; one loving grandson, Evan (Brittany) Brown of Chapmanville, WV; seven loving granddaughters, Amanda (Gary) Kish of Madison, WV, Ashley (Benny) Brown of Barboursville, WV, Bekkah Brown of Lewisburg, WV, Faith (Josh) Cannon of Whitman, WV, Skylar Brown of Madison, WV, JoAnna Podunavac of Madison, WV and Jennifer Podunavac of Madison, WV; step-grandchildren, Tara, Tori and Bub; four beautiful great-granddaughters, Hannah Cannon, Abby Cannon, Lilly Brown and Alivia Kish; one handsome great-grandson, Quincy Evan Brown; one sister, Alene (Edgar) James of Inez, KY; four brothers, Howard Junior (Garnet Tiny) Ooten of Calhoun County, WV, Tommy (Donna Ooten of Chapmanville, WV, Wendell (Barbara) Ooten of Yolyn, WV and Johnny (Jackie) Adkins of Ararat, NC; once sister-in-law, Dolly Ooten of Ohio; many nieces and nephews; her precious little dog “Baby” who she loved dearly; her housekeeper that she loved and appreciated so much Juanita “Matilda” Curry Noel; and a host of other dear family members and friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. Billy Mullins and the fifth floor Nurses and most kindley the fourth floor ICU/CCU Nurses for their love and care. You ladies and gents will never know how much Ms. Hannah loved and appreciated all that you did for her.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with the Rev. Richard Belcher officiating. Burial will follow in Family Gardens, Madison where Hannah will be carried to rest by her family and friends.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
