Harold Porter

Harold “Hoppy” Porter, 75, of Danville, WV was born in Logan, WV on September 15, 1948 and passed away at his home on April 28, 2024.

He was preceded in death by his wife Betty Porter; and his parents Ernest and Mabel Porter.

He was a coal miner and a United States Army veteran.  He was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Danville, WV, and was a member of the Danville Town Council.

He is survived by his sons, Jonathan of Danville, WV, and Matthew and Bethany of Charleston, WV; grandchildren, Elizabeth Quinn Porter, Lennox Grace Marie Porter, Nash Coalton Porter, and Darby Madison Porter; and siblings, Margaret McClure (Richard), Raymond Porter (Joyce), Hilda Ellis (Stubby), Patricia Mills (Jeff), and William Porter (Terri).

Service will be 5 p.m. on Friday, May 3 at Bible Baptist Church in Danville with Pastors, John Barker and Michael Clark officiating.  

Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV is assisting the family.
