Harry Eugene Doss, 74, of Prenter was born October 8, 1941 at home on Williams Mountain and passed away June 11, 2016 at CAMC Memorial Hospital, Charleston.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Sarah Estep; mother, Irene Doss; father, Harry Doss; one daughter, two brothers; and two sisters.
He loved to go camping, play guitar, build stuff and float down the river. But most of all he loved being with his family.
He is survived by his children, Carol Hoover of Cowen, Teresa and “Jim” Doss of Cowen, Debbie Estep of Prenter, Ruthie and Gary Parsons of Huntington, Sherry and Max Parsons of New Port, Susie and Stevie Wray of Mercer County, Johny Estep of Prenter, Timmy and Robin of Camp Creek, Alan and Amy of Whitesville, Curtis Doss of Prenter and Little Buddy and Emma Doss of Madison; sisters, Thelma Burns of Prenter and Beatrice Canterbury of Madison; and brothers, Lester Doss of Prenter, Lawrence Doss of Costa, Osher Doss of Newport and David Doss of Seth. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday, June 16 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with the Rev. Phil Rowe officiating. Burial will follow in Williams Mountain Cemetery, Williams Mountain.
