Harry Lee Miller, of Madison, WV was born on September 13, 1935 to Earl and Sadie Mae Miller of Greenview, WV. He passed away on May 8, 2017 at the age of 81.
Harry was a 1953 graduate of Scott High School and later went on to achieve a Bachelor of Arts from Marshall College in 1958. Harry began his professional career at the Boone County Sheriff’s Department and was later employed by the Bank of Danville where he served the public for over 28 years.
Harry loved to spend time playing pinochle, watching sports, and was an avid golfer. On any given day you could find him on his John Deere mower taking special pride in his lawn. His daily routine consisted of reading the paper, following the stock market, and caring for his cat, Sylvester.
Harry was preceded in death by his daughter Veronica Lee and son Harry Lee II; parents, Earl and Sadie Mae Miller; brothers, Earl Jr. and Leland; and sister Katherine Jeanette Hodges.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 50 years, Laverne; brother, Jennings (Ruth) Miller of Madison, WV; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitors may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 10th at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV. A private family service will be conducted on Thursday, May 11, 2017.
