Harvey Wells, 95, of Branchland, WV died Thursday, October 8, 2015 at River's Bend Health Care, South Point, Ohio. He was born November 9, 1919 a son of the late Raymond and Grace Smith Wells.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his siblings; a daughter Leanna (Kitten) Wells; and a great grandson Cody Wells. He was a WWII Veteran, having received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. He was also a member of American Legion Post 111 of Hamlin, WV and a member of the VFW.
He is survived by his children, Grace (Silas) Warr, Leonard Harvey Wells, Mike (Evelyn) Wells, Tracey Lee (Karen) Wells, and R. Fargo Wells; eight grandchildren, Leonard Jr., Cindy, Donna, Chris, Kevin, Kyle, Karen, and Katherine; three great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral service will be 10:00 AM Monday October 12, 2015 at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin, WV with Alan Frye officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 111 of Hamlin, WV at Branchland Cemetery, Branchland, WV.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service on Monday.
