Helen Louise Keener Clay, 66, of Alkol, WV was born at Elmira, WV on April 6, 1946 and died March 30, 2013 at Boone Nursing Rehabilitation Center of Huntington’s Disease.
She was preceded in death by her parents Albert Keener and Dessie King and foster parents, Anna and Dorsal Burnside; husband, Willie Clay Jr; and brother, Frankie Keener.
She is survived by daughter, Lisa Marie Clay and her husband Obed; granddaughters, Hope Lovejoy of Colorado, Ashley (Ryan) Esbrandt of Danville and Candy Lovejoy of Yawkey; five great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Esbrandt, Whitley Esbrandt, Alanta Esbrandt, Christian Bowman and Olivia Bowman; and two step-grandchildren, Bobby Clay and Arron Clay. She is also survived by three birth siblings, James Keener, Rose Mary Keener and one unknown sibling; and foster siblings, Sharon K. Williams, Tom Burnside, Terry Burnside, Donald Burnside and William Fekishazy.
She was a former employee of CAMC until she was unable to continue because of her illness.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, April 4 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with the Rev. Tom Burnside officiating. Burial will follow in Drawdy Cemetery, Peytona.
