Herman Grover Cabell

Herman Grover Cabell, 77, of Foster passed from this life April 28, 2023 at his home surrounded by family.

He was preceded in death by his wife Brenda; daughter Joretta Currence; brothers, Harold, Darrell and Billy Cabell; and parents Willie and Lucy Cabell.

Herman was a member of the Rock Creek Church of Christ.  He served in Korea guarding the line between North and South, and Darrell lost his life in Vietnam. He and Darrell were given many awards for their brave service, he also drove tanks.

He worked in the mining industry underground running heavy equipment. He was a member of the UMWA.

Left to Cherish his memory are his sister, Janice, Tawney; a son, Garin Cabell of TN, Garvin’s sons, Taylor Cabell and Dustin Cabell both of North Carolina; son, William Cabell of Logan and daughter, Stephanie Robinette her daughter Lilly, Joretta’s daughter and son Anthony and Brittany.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2023 Handley Funeral Home, Danville, WV with Quincy Javins, our brother raised by our dad, officiating. Song leader, Mike a member and brother in Christ leading two songs, granddaughter in law, Sarah, mother of Allydia Robinette, will sing a solo I’ll Fly Away.  Final resting place on Willie Cabell’s home place.

We appreciate so very much all who helped in anyway, food, flowers, cards and the funeral home. 

Herman now rests in peace in Jesus Arms and God’s grace. “He that controls his tongue is a perfect man.” Herman was good at this.
