Hersey Taylor Osborne

Hersey Taylor Osborne, 78, of Seth WV, departed this world for his heavenly home on Thursday February 15, 2024. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hersey and Delcie Osborne and his siblings, Oral Joseph, Sue, Terry, Rocky, Thelma Jean and Kathy. 

Those left to cherish Taylor’s memory are his loving wife, Darlene; his children, Randy, Kandy, T.O., Eddie and wife Ginger, Lee and wife Lena, whom Taylor considered to be his daughter, Greg, Amanda and Danny; his siblings, Mary Ann, Becky, Sheliah, Sharon, Phillip, and Junior. 17 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. 

Taylor was a faithful member and trustee of The Church of God. He participated in many mission drives and raising funds for the church. He met many in the church from all over who cared and loved him as their brother in the Lord. He dearly loved attending and serving the Lord and the church. 

Taylor wore many hats. He was a coal miner and foreman, farmer, construction worker, the list goes on. There was never a task that he was afraid to tackle. He also enjoyed digging and selling roots and he loved to cook and feed everyone. His favorite hobby was working. He worked hard with great passion to the best of his knowledge and ability. He loved his family dearly and he will be greatly missed. 

Services will be 11 a.m. on Monday, February 19, 2024 at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV with Walter Lofton, James Smith and George Atha officiating.  

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow at Osborne Cemetery, Williams Mountain, WV.
