Hershell Lee Halstead

Hershell Lee Halstead, 87, of Peytona, WV passed away at home March 15, 2023. 

He is a retired coal miner from Peabody Coal, and a member of the UMWA.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Opal Perdue Halstead; his wives, Grace Ann and Freda; sons, Randy and Glen; daughter, Doris Adkins; grandchildren, Travis Clendenin, and Willow Williams; sons in law, Steve Adkins and Gene Clendenin.

Surviving are his children, Judy Clendenin of Drawdy; Ronnie and Donna Garrison of Webster Springs, WV, Ronnie & Robin Santonio of Seth, WV, Hershell and Michelle Halstead of Costa, Timothy and Valarie Halstead of Ohio, and Lee and Sabrina Halstead of Peytona; 18 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; brothers Danny Halstead, Bruce and Dickie Halstead; sisters, Annie Cox and Kathy Bowling.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 19, 2023 Handley Funeral Home, Danville, WV with Jeff Howerton officiating.  Burial will follow in Harless Cemetery, Drawdy, WV.
