Hubert Allen Elkins Sr

Hubert Allen Elkins, Ranger, WV passed to his heavenly home on April 26^th, 2024.  Allen was born on December 6^th, 1943 to the late Hubert Alton and Doris (Adkins) Elkins. In addition to his parents, his wife, Redith Frazier Elkins, his brothers Darwin and Johnny Elkins preceded Allen in death.

He is survived by his children, Hubert Allen Elkins, Jr. (Mary) and Vanessa Elkins of West Hamlin, WV, Glenna (Jason) Moore of Harts, WV and Kevin (Cara) Elkins of Ona, WV; his brother, Fred Elkins of West Hamlin, WV; and sister, Sheila Young of Culloden, WV.  Allen took great pride and enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow and thrive.  Allen enjoyed a special bond with his grandson, AJ Elkins who shared his love of working on machines and vehicles.  Allen had a deep passion for the outdoors, finding peace and happiness in the woods.  His love for Ranger Ridge was unmatched and he found solace in the quiet moments spent in nature.  

Allen accepted Christ into his life and was baptized on September 18^th, 2012 and he became a member of Ranger Untied Baptist Church where he was a faithful servant to the Lord, attending with his dear friend of many years, Ruby Smith.

The Elkins family extends its gratitude for the care and comfort Allen received from Hospice of Huntington.  

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 29, 2024 from 6:00-8:00pm at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home in West Hamlin, WV.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, April 30, 2024 at Ranger United Baptist Church in Ranger, WV.
