Irene Porter, 85 of Branchland departed this life and went to be with the Lord on Friday January 19, 2018 at home.
She was a member of Camp Branch United Baptist Church. She was born December 14, 1932 the daughter of the late Albert and Luella Ramey Clay.
In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Jennings Porter; one son Ralph Porter; one grandson Jennings Ray Porter; one granddaughter September Porter; one sister Faye Parsons; and two brothers, Verlin and Bernie Clay.
Left to treasure her memory includes five sons, Norwood Clay, Bernie Porter, Hubert Porter, Lenville Porter, and Delbert Porter; two sisters, Ona Triplett, and Margaret Parsons; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and five great- great grandchildren. Also, a host of nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors, and little Bubba.
The family would like to extend a very special and gracious thank you to Hospice of Huntington, Tracey Hazelett and Diedra Mabry for the care given to her in her final days.
Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Tuesday January 23, 2018 at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home West Hamlin, WV with Earl Ramey officiating. Burial will follow at Watson Cemetery Branchland.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
