James Moses Burns, 84, of Madison, West Virginia, died on Friday, February 6, 2015 at Charleston Area Medical Center after a short illness.
He was born December 20, 1930 to the late Raymond and Drusia Belle Burns. He was preceded in death by his brothers Paul E. Burns of Quinland, WV, Harold L. Burns of Cleveland, OH and Woodrow D. Burns of Tulsa, OK and granddaughter Melody Hyberger.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his children Danny Burns and David (Michelle) Burns of Bucyrus, OH and Linda Joyce Hyberger and Brenda Joan Miller of Louisville, KY. James had six grandchildren: Shelly, Tony, Jennifer, James, David & Noah; and also had eight great grandchildren.
James is survived by his brother Edward L. Burns and sister Norma J. Cabell both of Quinland, WV.
He will be greatly missed by Rocky Burns, Eddie Burns and Debbie Peters who provided additional care for him over the years.
He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was employed by Galion Iron Works of Bucyrus, OH as an iron worker for over 20 years. He enjoyed reading and watching WVU football. He was the best story teller and will be remembered for making everyone laugh with his witty personality.
In honor of James’ wishes, he will be cremated by Handley Funeral Home and there will be no visitation or funeral services.
