James Archie “Jimmy” Ferrell was born February 5, 1939 and passed away at the age of 77 on Monday January 9, 2017.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles C. Ferrell and his mother, Francis Brown; brother, Jessie W. Ferrell; sisters, Phylis Ferrell and Jewel Davis; and granddaughter, Emma Ferrell.
He is survived by his wife, Rosa Kinser Ferrell; sons, Terry Ferrell of Kanawha City, Gary Ferrell of Belle, Mark Mitchell of Saint Albans and Nathan Ferrell of Comfort; daughter, Lisa Caldwell of Alum Creek; grandchildren, James (JW) Ferrell, Jillian and Thomas Caldwell, Tera Stevens, Anna Ferrell, Nathan Jr. Ferrell, Johnathan and Dylan Mitchell and Jace and Jack Mitchell and Landon Ferrell. He also leaves behind 19 nieces and nephews.
Jimmy had a heart that was full of love for his friends and family. A lot of his friends called him Dad or Paw-Paw Ferrell. He will be forever loved and will never be forgotten. A special thanks goes out to Dignity Hospice and his many doctors.
Service will be 2 p.m. Friday, January 13 at 1 p.m. at Round Bottom Community Church, Peytona with the Rev. Harless Peters Jr. and Roger Ross officiating. Burial will follow in Adkins Cemetery, Joe’s Creek, Comfort.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Handley Funeral Home in Danville.
