James Arthur Matheny

James Arthur "Easy Money" Matheny, 65 of Midkiff, WV passed on to a better and more peaceful life on Saturday, November 21, 2015 after a long illness. He was born March 2, 1950 in Roane County, WV, a son of the late Arthur Darrell Matheny and Myrtle Payton Watts. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his step mother Wanda Matheny.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his ex wife Diann Matheny; his children, Lou Conley of Ohio, Jamie (Donna) Matheny of Midkiff, Sabrina (Ben) Parsons of Branchland, and Katrina (Herbert) Thacker of Branchland; 17 grandchildren, Josh, Tyler, Braden, Wesley, Hunter, Gauge, Brycen, Riley, Trenton, Bradley, Destiny, Steven, Lucas, Jasmine, Johnny, Jesse, and Jewels; seven siblings, Carolyn Altizer of Branchland, Kaye Sias of Branchland, Elizabeth Bush of Texas, Annette Oldaker of Cottageville, WV, Alvin Matheny of Ripley, WV Roxanna Matheny of Evans, WV, and Kevin Matheny of Ripley, WV; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones.
Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday December 1, 2015 at McGhee-Handley Funeral Home, West Hamlin, WV with Boone Lambert officiating. His final resting place will be at Matheny Family Cemetery, Nine Mile, Midkiff, WV.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM Monday at the funeral home.
