James Dallas Ward

James Dallas Ward, 87, of Lake, WV passed away May 18, 2013 at Trinity Health Care, Logan, WV.
He was a retired coal miner, member UMWA, a WWII and Korean Navy veteran and member of the VFW Barboursville, WV.
He was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn; his parents, James Okey and Ann Ward; sisters, Pearl and Mary; and brothers, Charles and Edwin Ward.
He is survived by a daughter, Teresa and Robert Akers of Lake; a son, James Ward of Greenview; stepdaughter, Linda and Michael Doss of Ottawa; stepson, Danny and Jean Ferrell of Ramage; and sisters, Virginia, Opal and Alma; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Pastor Mark Meeker officiating. Burial will follow in Family Gardens, Madison with Military Graveside Rites performed by Daniel Boone VFW Post 5578 of Madison, West Virginia.
Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
