Jamie Okey Hammond

Jamie Okey Hammond of Cazy, WV died at home on January 5, 2024 after a long illness.

He was born on February 11, 1974 to Corby Lee and Violet Hammond. He was preceded in death by his dad, Corby Lee Hammond and his nephew, Michael David Hall.

Left to cherish his memories are his Mom, Violet; his sisters, Vickie Hall (Gary) of Madison and Lisa Setliff (Tony) of Jarrell’s Branch; also his nephews, Kevin Lee Hall of Madison, Enk Scott Hall (Erica) of Alkol, and Travis John Setliff of Cazy.

Jamie was a 1992 graduate of Van High School.  He worked as a security guard for several years.  After that Jamie was employed by Jupiter Coal Company as a supply clerk.

Jamie loved to hunt and fish with his dad.  One of their fondest memories was when they both killed turkeys on the same day.  Jamie had coon dogs and enjoyed taking them in the woods.  Jamie also enjoyed sports (especially football).  He loved his Dallas Cowboys.

A graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Mid Ferrell Cemetery, Bandytown, WV with David Cook officiating.
