Janet Louise Bradford

Janet Louise Bradford, 83, of Madison, WV passed away peacefully in her home on July 13th, 2022. She was born in 1939 in Low Gap, WV to parents Nellie Kincaid and Jesse Sutphin. She was a graduate of Scott High School, an avid fisherwoman, reader, and puzzle solver. She worked as a legal assistant but truly shined as a homemaker. At the passing of her daughter, she raised her grandson as her own. She loved her family and was close with many of her nieces and nephews. She was a beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt who will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her mother Nellie Kincaid; father Jesse Sutphin; husband Donald Bradford; daughter Jan Bradford Lay; sisters Irene Callison, Anna VandeLinde, Hazel Wilcoxen, Agnes Hendershot, Lucille Sutphin, and Ella May Sutphin; as well as her brothers Emil Sutphin and Donald Sutphin.

She is survived by her son Tim Bradford; grandson Ian Lay; stepson James Bradford; step grandchildren James Bradford, Jordan Bradford, and Ambra Bradford Price; sisters Alice Meadows, Phyllis Hanson, and Betty Judy; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests you make a donation in her memory to your local food assistance program such as Manna Meal.

There will be an intimate family service at 11 a.m. on Sunday, July 17th at Handley Funeral Home. She will be buried at Family Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time.
