Janet Elaine Hill

Janet Elaine Sumler Hill, 65, of Julian, WV, passed away on October 12, 2013, after an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Sally Sumler.
Janet was a 1966 graduate of Scott High School and worked several years at Underwood’s Restaurant in Danville, WV. She was a Baptist by faith. She also enjoyed caring for several pets who kept her company during times of illness.
Janet is survived by her husband of 42 years, Larry E. Hill, Sr. of Julian; one son, Larry Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, of Bloomington, IN; and three grandchildren, Abby, Ollie, and Charlotte. She also leaves behind a half-sister, Frances Barron, of Smith Mtn. Lake, VA; special aunts, Brookie Halstead and Imarea Miller; as well as several extended family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held at Handley Funeral Home in Danville, WV at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 with the Rev. Johnny Barker officiating.
Friends may visit one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Boone Memorial Park, Madison, WV.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Janet’s name to the Olive Baptist Church, PO Box 152, Julian, WV 25529.
