Janice Ray Boggs

August 3, 1938 — June 19, 2015

Janice Ray Boggs left to join the Lord on Friday, June 19, 2015 after a courageous battle with dementia. She was surrounded by her family, and the unwavering faith in God that she held. Janice was born on August 3, 1938, one of four children born to Howard Hamilton and Maxine Frye. She was preceded in death by her older sister, Inez Kuhn and is survived by her brothers, Tom of Indiana and John of Wharton, WV. A devout Christian, Janice was a member of Bim Freewill Baptist Church.

She married Leon D. Boggs Sr. on April 13 1959, whom preceded her in death, and together they welcomed five children. They are left behind to cherish the memory of their parents and the values they instilled in them: Leon Dean Boggs Jr of Bim; Wesley Howard Boggs of Wharton; Teresa Lynn Meadows and Husband Jack Meadows of Wharton; Diane Gail Fuller and Tim Fuller of Wharton; and Sandra Kay Moore and husband Randy Moore of Beckley.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Kimberly Boggs-Shrader and leaves behind 13 Grandchildren and 20 Great-grandchildren.

While she will be missed deeply, her family takes comfort in knowing she is in heaven reunited with her beloved husband and mother whom she dearly missed and Conway who she loved to hear say “Hello Darling.”

At Janice’s request there will be only a graveside service held on Monday, June 22, 2015 at 11am at Danville Memorial Park in Danville with Phil Rowe officiating.

The family would like to thank Kevin Hill and all those at BMH Hospital for all their help and Hospice for all they did to help us take such good care of her during her final days.
Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.
Matthew 11:28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
