Jerry Kent Mullins, 78, of Hamlin, WV, widower of Geraldine McNeely Mullins left his earthly home on September 26, 2013.
He was born in Madison, WV the only child of the late Oather and Dixie Mullins. He graduated from Scott High School and Duke University. Jerry and Geraldine were married and moved to Hamlin, WV to live their lives and raise their family. Jerry was the owner/manager of Mullins Ford until he retired and closed the doors. During those years he served on the Ford Dealer Council, and was owner of #17 in NASCAR, driven by Jr. Spencer. He was a member of Hamlin Baptist Church where he served on various committees and belonged to the Hamlin Lions Club. Jerry loved taking his motor home and traveling to the beach to many NASCAR events. "Big Jer" enjoyed doing for, giving to, and being part of the Community of Hamlin.
Survivors include his son Barry Kent Mullins (Terri Alstead) of Hamlin, WV; daughter, Robin Lynn Triplett (Dr. Terrence W. Triplett) of Barboursville, WV; grandchildren, Barry Kent Mullins II, Terrence W Triplett, Jr., Steven L. Triplett and Abigail M. Triplett. He also leaves behind an ex-spouse JoAnn Martin and special friend Kaye Hager.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Sunday September 29, 2013 at Hamlin Baptist Church in Hamlin, WV with David Burch officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Barboursville, WV.
Friends may call from 6 pm to 8 pm, Saturday, September 28, 2013, at Handley Funeral Home in Hamlin, WV.
